This is the first lost an artist that has impacted me in a great way. Honestly, Mac was one of the first rappers that got me into Hip-Hop. Of course Lil Wayne, Jay-Z and Kanye West but that era of him, Wiz Khalifa, Big Sean, Casey Veggies, Curren$y, Wale, Dom Kennedy and Dom Kennedy; when they were all at their peek was so fulfilling and full of life. Early Mac music were soundtracks to my life and I’ll never forget the memories that happened because of his awesome music.
I heard cries for help beginning with his mix-tape, Macadelic. I thought “Wow, this is different…intense…explicit.” But I loved it! It was great music. I feel so sorry for regular people who suffers from depression and abuses drugs to numb the pain. But, I can just imagine how it is being famous with tons of money and being depressed…man…I’m sorry Mac. You will forever be missed.
It was also great to see how much love people have for him as a person and his musical talents. The celebrities that spoke on his passing had similar stories which filled my heart. Celebrities were saying how Mac Miller opened his California home to new artists and took new artists on their first tour. We have to remember that Mac Miller started out way before a lot of our new favorite artists started. He was definitely a backpack rapper with nice little kid rhymes but he grew into a talent and versatile musician.
Let’s not ignore the signs of mental issues that people have, let’s cherish our friends and family that we have because we never know when people will leave this earth
Rest Well Malcolm.
