The Golden Globe Awards aired January 8th 2016 to honor the best in film and television. The Golden Globes is usually a predominantly white award show but the diversity differently stepped in that night! The movie Moonlight by Barry Jenkins won best motion Picture Drama, Viola Davis won Best Supporting Actress in the movies Fences and gave a great acceptance speech. Donald Glover won Best Television Series and best Actor in Television Series for the show Atlanta and gave a shout out to black people and The Migos for they’re number one song in the U.S. Bad and Bougie! Tracee Ellis Ross won Best actress in a Television Series for Blackish and she is actually the first black women in to win in her category in 35 years! Last but not least the amazing Meryl Streep stole the show when she made a great speech that address Donald Trump. This was a great night for culture, awareness and diversity.
